Polycrystalline silicon photocells are heavy and fragile. In roofing applications, polycrystalline photocells usually require additional structure to support their weight. Installations also require roof penetrations - never a good idea for a high performance roof.

Instead, MBMI can supply a lightweight thin-film laminate that requires no roof penetrations and no additional structural support. Plus, thin-film laminates maintain a roof's serviceability. Compared to any other technology, including polycrystalline silicon, our solar laminate, manufactured by UNI-SOLAR, achieves higher relative efficiency under high temperatures and low light. They are so much more efficient that you may see as much as 20% more energy production. How does it work?

The solar system is applied directly onto the metal roof and then connected to the combiner box. The integrated photovoltaic panels then convert sunlight into DC electricity. The inverter changes the DC electricity into AC electricity so it can be used in your facility or home.
