Three Treasure Coast Cities, Nine Published Buildings

The Treasure Coast runs down Florida’s Atlantic side through Indian River, St. Lucie, and Martin Counties, and MBMI has published customer projects in all three. Palm City is our arena country: one horse property took a 70 by 140 foot riding arena with an attached barn, a second arena buyer came back for two more, and a third customer put up an airplane hangar with a Hydroswing door, then stuccoed the walls to match the house. Fort Pierce work leans practical, with a 30 by 60 gambrel barn, a commercial building, and a large garage whose owner told us the permitting help and finished trim mattered most. Down in Vero Beach, Proaquatix ordered a tropical fish nursery designed around some unconventional requirements, and two residential buyers added a 40 by 60 garage and an RV garage. Every one of those buildings was engineered for the coastal wind loads the Florida Building Code assigns along the Indian River Lagoon, because a building a mile from the water does not carry the same design number as one out west toward the turnpike.

Why Treasure Coast Buyers Choose MBMI

What the published Palm City, Fort Pierce, and Vero Beach projects say about building steel on Florida’s Atlantic side.

70′

Clear-Span Arena Framing

The Palm City dressage and riding-arena orders needed wide, column-free interiors, and the 70 by 140 arena with attached barn shows the scale that clear-span steel handles. When one arena customer ordered two more, that told us the framing worked as promised.

FBC

Coastal Wind Engineering

Martin, St. Lucie, and Indian River Counties sit in Florida Building Code coastal wind territory, and the required design load shifts with distance from the Atlantic. Each building is engineered to its own site, with load calculations included in the drawing set.

Unconventional Specs Welcome

Proaquatix needed a Vero Beach nursery building for tropical fish production, not a catalog structure. Their project manager wrote that we designed exactly what they needed, fabricated it correctly, and delivered on time. Odd requirements are the interesting part of the job.

One Team, Start to Finish

Design, engineering, detailing, and project management all happen in-house at our Delray Beach office, about an hour south of Palm City on Interstate 95. The Fort Pierce garage buyer called his experience perfect from start to finish, permitting help included.

From Phone Call to Finished Building

The same four steps carried the Palm City arenas, the Fort Pierce barn, and the Vero Beach nursery from idea to standing steel.

1

Quote & Design

Describe the building and the parcel; you get a drawn layout and a real number back with no obligation. Unusual programs like the Proaquatix nursery start the same way as a garage.

2

Engineer to Your Site

Our in-house team sizes the frame to the Florida Building Code wind load for your Martin, St. Lucie, or Indian River County address, then hands over engineered drawings and load calculations for the county plan desk.

3

Fabricate & Freight

Parts are manufactured at IAS-certified facilities to MBMA standards, cut, coated, and labeled, then trucked direct to your job site off the I-95 or turnpike corridor.

4

Raise the Steel

Foundation and erection are arranged on your end, and the drawings guide the bolt-up. The Palm City arena owner put it simply: everything promised, delivered on time.

Treasure Coast Steel Building FAQs

Which Treasure Coast cities has MBMI shipped steel buildings to?
Palm City in Martin County, Fort Pierce in St. Lucie County, and Vero Beach in Indian River County, with nine published customer projects across the three cities. Nearby Port St. Lucie has published MBMI projects as well, including a residential hangar and a set of commercial buildings, so the corridor is well covered.
Can MBMI engineer a riding arena for a Palm City horse property?
Yes, and Palm City is where our published Florida arena work is concentrated. One customer ordered a 70 by 140 foot riding arena with an attached barn, and another arena buyer liked the first building enough to order two more. Clear-span framing keeps the riding surface free of interior columns.
What wind loads do Treasure Coast steel buildings need to meet?
Martin, St. Lucie, and Indian River Counties all fall under Florida Building Code coastal wind provisions, and the design number changes with distance from the Atlantic shoreline. We engineer each building to the wind load for its specific site, then deliver engineered drawings and load calculations your county plan reviewer can check directly.
Did MBMI really build a tropical fish nursery in Vero Beach?
Yes. Proaquatix, an ornamental fish producer, needed a nursery building with some unconventional requirements, and their project manager wrote that the building was designed exactly to those needs, fabricated correctly, and delivered on schedule. It is one of three published Vero Beach projects alongside two residential garages.
How does delivery work for a steel building on the Treasure Coast?
Components are manufactured at IAS-certified facilities to MBMA standards, then freighted direct to your Palm City, Fort Pierce, or Vero Beach job site; nothing sits in a third-party warehouse. Interstate 95 and Florida’s Turnpike both run the length of the Treasure Coast, so trucks reach job sites from Martin County to Indian River County without detours.
